Overview

Currently seeking caniddates that can supervise and execute mechanical construction projects primarily in the natural gas industry. This caniddate must be capable of leading and managing mechanical operations onsite and requires a broad knowledge of industry requirements and best practices. Position requires a strong focus on project planning, execution, and cost. This position is a travel position and jobsites can range from OH, WV, PA, NC, VA, NY, KY, MI (working a 10 and 4 schedule). 

 

**Bi-Con Services employees working in safety-sensitive positions are drug and alcohol tested under the federal DOT regulations.Testing is conducted for pre-employment, on a random basis (according to the requirements of DOT), reasonable suspicion and post-accident (according to the requirements of DOT.) Under DOT regulations, marijuana, whether with a medical prescription or not, is considered an illegal substance.  

Responsibilities

  • Promote the company safety culture.
  • Participate/lead daily huddles and safety meetings.
  • Ensure the activities being performed on the job site are being performed safely and efficiently.
  • Assist the field superintendent with the planning of daily activities.
  • Assign daily job activities to crew members.
  • Provide training and guidance to crew members to ensure the safe and efficient completion of the project.
  • Take on superintendent responsibilities when the superintendent is not on the job site.
  • Perform job site layout.
  • Assist the field superintendent and field engineer with hydro-test plans and maintaining redline drawings.
  • Setup and perform hydro-testing and pressure testing of piping systems.
  • Assist field superintendent and field engineer with maintaining redline drawings.
  • Perform site activities. Tasks include but are not limited to; threaded piping, torqueing flanges, site layout and pressure testing.
  • Organize office and tool trailers.
  • Other duties as assigned, to include general laborer duties.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in natural gas construction or related field.
  • Possess aerial lift, aerial work platform, rigging and signaling certifications.
  • Has leadership skills that facilitate the growth of other employees.
  • Knowledgeable with and applies OSHA standards.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • This is a field position and requires 100% travel with occasional office work.
