  • Overview

    The Project Manager is responsible for the overall successful completion of multiple construction projects running simultaneously.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions/Major Duties:

    • Promote the company’s safety culture throughout all levels of the organization.
    • Ensure all field personnel, including subcontractors, are engaged and promoting the safety culture.
    • Operate as the primary point of contact for the customer and subcontractors.
    • Assist Superintendents with preparing the construction schedule on multiple projects.
    • Facilitate the pre-job planning process.
    • Participate in the pre-job planning meeting.
    • Prepare a bill of material for projects.
    • Generate, review and approve purchase orders.
    • Evaluate and select subcontractors for projects.
    • Prepare subcontracts and ensure they are executed prior to beginning work on the site.
    • Prepare and issue weekly reports detailing the progress on the site.
    • Assist Superintendents with providing schedule updates.
    • Make routine jobsite visits as necessary to facilitate weekly/bi-weekly onsite coordination meetings.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including project execution plan, manpower and equipment plan, and site-specific safety plan.
    • Review the prime contract, customer’s specifications and job specific requirements and ensure all documents are followed through daily communication with the Superintendent, reviewing daily reports and frequent site visits.
    • Forecast, track, and monitor all costs associated with the assigned projects.
    • Prepare, track, and negotiate all change orders associated with the assigned projects.
    • Review project status with Senior Project Manager on a weekly basis.
    • Prepare cost to complete analysis to review with Senior Project Manager.
    • Approve accounts payables for projects.
    • Prepare, track, and monitor the schedule of values to be used for invoicing purposes.
    • Prepare and issue any RFI’s for the project.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated track record of successful goal achievement.
    • Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret contracts, budgets, reports, construction drawings and technical manuals.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

    • Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal.
    • Ability to anticipate problems and use sound judgement and tact in handling confidential and other matters.
    • A minimum of 5 years project management experience and a thorough knowledge of the natural gas industry.
    • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or commensurate field experience required.
    • Familiar with reading and understanding construction critical path schedules.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Extensive travel required.
